Missionary Luncheon
August 10 ~ 11:0 A.M.
Courtenay Hall

All of FPC is invited to attend a luncheon and presentation on Tuesday, August 10, in Courtenay Hall at 11:00 A.M. featuring the Jeff and Christi Boyd.  The Boyds will be on home-leave and traveling the United States during the summer and want to visit with their FPC PW prayer partners, the Jo King Circle.

Currently living in Cameroon, Jeff serves as regional liaison for education in the countries of Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Equatorial Guinea. His duties include assessing schools, encouraging teacher training and defining goals for individual schools. In 2004, with funding from by The Outreach Foundation, Jeff developed The Africa Game, a mission education game for children and adults in the US. He also provides support to PC (USA) mission personnel serving in the region and to presbyteries and congregations considering mission engagement in Central Africa.

Christi is the companionship facilitator for the Presbyterian Hunger Program’s Joining Hands Against Hunger initiative in Cameroon. She works with national, non-governmental organizations, grassroots groups and faith-based organizations to facilitate the establishment of a national network to address hunger-related issues in that country.

Prior to serving in Cameroon, the Boyds were in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Following their evacuation from the Congo in 1998, Jeff worked with the Booth Family Africa Fund (BFAF) to implement procedures for receiving, appraising and funding grant proposals from Africa in the areas of education, evangelism and leadership development.

To attend the luncheon, RSVP to Ginny Tindle at 383-1815 no later than Thursday, August 5. Luncheon cost is $9 and checks should be made payable to the church with a notation in the memo line: PW Luncheon.
