Enroll in Circles

If you are new to FPC, you may wonder, “What is a Circle?” A Circle is a small group of women who meet together monthly to nurture their faith through prayer and Bible study. The Circle then puts that faith into action by supporting our church family and many of its local and foreign missions.

What kinds of women are involved in Circles?” Circles are an all-inclusive, caring community of women. Women of all ages are encouraged to participate. We offer both Day and Evening Circles. You choose the one that works best for you.

What are the Circles studying next year?” The Circle Bible leaders have selected a wonderful study, Hope: Never Beyond Hope, which reminds us that God is wonderfully adept at using us despite our sinful imperfections. In the study we discover that biblical characters failed and then were redeemed by God just as He can do with us.

When do Circles meet?” Circles meet the second Tuesday of the month beginning in September 2010, and continue through May 2011. The Day Circles meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Cheek House and in individual homes. The Jo King Night Circle meets from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with dinner served in Courtenay Lounge and Bible study led by the Rev. Dr. Tom Walker. Circle 8 meets in the home of Jean Fitzgerald (address provided upon enrollment) beginning with dinner at 6:00 p.m. followed by study.

How can I join a Circle?” Complete a PW Circle Enrollment Form located here, in the church newsletter, First Edition, or pick up one in the literature rack in the church office area and return it to the church.

Is childcare provided?” Yes, childcare is provided for Cheek House Circles for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. Contact Karen Fitts at 298-9519 or kfitts@fpcnashville.org to make an advance reservation.

If you have any questions about Circles, please call Becky Crawford at 353-1042 or Julie Peacock at 790-2892 (Circle Inclusion) or Circle Leader Coordinators Jenny Soares at 370-8187or Nell Clark at 292-7423.

Connect

Connect is a weekly bible study for women and their young children that meets here at FPC on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. during the months of September through May. The fall study, beginning on September 9, will be taught by Jenny Soares and Karen Merrill and features Faithful, Abundant, True by Beth Moore, Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer.

Connect - named for the striving to connect to God, the church, and each other - also offers a children’s program called Wee-Connect. Children ages 2-5 years old enjoy their own companion Bible study taught by Barb Dentz and Catherine Loflin, while children ages 6 months to 2 years are offered childcare. The children’s bible study program is currently full, but there is no limit on the number of women who can attend the bible study.

To enroll in Connect, click here to print an enrollment form or look for one in the church newsletter, First Edition, or pick one up in the church literature rack.

If you have questions about the Connect and Wee-Connect studies, please call Yvonne Ayers at 371-9516.
