PW Summer Bible Study Begins June 10

Plan to attend Presbyterian Women's intriguing, new summer Bible study, Who You Are When No One's Looking?, beginning Tuesday, June 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cheek House.

We all present our best behavior when others are watching. But, what about when no one is looking? That's when character emerges: courage, discipline, vision, endurance, compassion, and self-sacrifice.

Using key scripture passages this study, written by Bill Hybels, senior pastor of Willow Creek Church, helps us to apply biblical truths to our lives, even as we face temptation and adversity.

Weekly studies will be led by Clokie Dixon (June 10), Emily Eberle (June 17), Etta Wilson (June 24), Pam Shampain (July 1), Laura Coyle (July 8), and Leanne Nichols (July 15). Childcare is available by calling Karen Fitts at 298-9529 or kfitts@fpcnashville.org.

Thursday Evening
Women's Bible Study

Do you have the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus? In what ways is the Lord telling you, as he did Peter, "Come"?

The Thursday evening women's study group invites all women of the church and their friends to their study of "If You Want To Walk On Water, You've Got To Get Out Of The Boat" by Dr. John Ortberg, Pastor of Menlo Park (CA) Presbyterian Church. The 11-week study begins on July 17 and meets from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Cheek House living room.

Winner of the 2002 Christianity Today Book Award, author John Ortberg invites you to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone. Out on the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God. The choice is yours to know him as only a water-walker can, aligning yourself with God's purpose for your life in the process. There's just one requirement: If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat.

New study members are welcome to join at any time. Books may be purchased thru the church, or you may purchase on your own. Call Ellen Murphree or Judy Lawrence if you want to acquire yours thru the church.

For additinal questions, please contact Judy Lawrence at 832-1281 or Ellen Murphree at 377-4731.
