Home Partners
A "Home Partner" is a church member who makes regular visits on behalf of the church to members who are in nursing homes, or to shut-ins at home who are unable to attend church services. The purpose of this ministry is to extend the care of the church to members who are unable to attend regular worship and church activities. Home Partners are encouraged to:
- Make a personal visit at least once a month for a period of 10 to 20 minutes in length
- Engage in a caring conversation to assess any needs that the person may have that could be addressed by the church or pastors
- Gather prayer concerns
- Provide any brief ministry that would be appropriate (such as reading of scripture or praying with the person)
- Make a one year commitment to visit this person
- Report any concerns or comments about the "home partner" to the associate pastor or the head of the committee
In addition to regular visits, homebound members receive poinsettias at Christmas and Easter lilies at Easter, delivered by volunteers of the church.
Contact Jessie Burton or Sandra Randleman (298-9502 or srandleman@fpcnashville.org) if you have any questions or are interested in participating in this ministry. |
