"Presbyterian Women -- Women IN the World"

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation."  Mark 16:15

Presbyterian Women coordinates with The Outreach Foundation, a mission support group of the PC(USA), to establish prayer partnerships with missionaries serving in the field around the world.  In each Circle, the Foregin Missions Liaison will communicate with the selected missionary to develop a relationship and to facilitate a prayer partnership between that misssionary and her Circle.

The Outreach Foundation is a mission support group of the PC(USA) that reaches out to people needing to know the grace of Jesus Christ in the realities of their lives.  It helps individuals and congregations to build strong relationships with missionaries, projects, and mission partners around the world.  Top priorities include supporting missionaries, building churches, equipping leaders for the global church and caring for vulnerable children.

January's World View

BJ Chalfant (Jo King/Circle 7) reports that their missionary prayer partners from Cameroon will travel to the United States this summer. This couple serves as regional liaison for the countries of Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea and also as the companionship facilitator for the Presbyterian Hunger Program’s Joining Hands Against Hunger initiative in Cameroon, helping to establish a national network and core program addressing hunger related issues in Cameroon.

Prior to living in Cameroon, these missionaries lived in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo where they engaged in similar work.

Preliminary plans are being made to welcome them to FPC. Watch for more information about an opportunity to meet and talk with these wonderful missionaries from Cameroon.

December's World View

Circle 8 collected notes of encouragement addressed to the women of the Central Brazilian Independent Presbyterian Churches as well as missionaries Mike and Irene Sivalee.  These cards and small Christmas gifts were presented to Mike when he met with the Adult Missions Committee of our church on November 16.  At that meeting Mike discussed with the Committee a possible exploratory mission trip to Brazil in April 2010.  Mike left Nashville to travel to Thailand to celebrate his mother’s 90th birthday, but upon his arrival he has spent his time at the hospital with his mother as she underwent heart surgery.  Circle 8 members have been kept alert of these prayer needs by e-mails from Mike.

September's World View

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation."  Mark 16:15

Our prayers are going worldwide to other missionaries:  We are pleased to continue our relationship with prayer partners in Taiwan and Cameroon.  Plus, we have added prayer partners in Congo, China, South Korea, Brazil and South Dakota/Native Americans.  Please support these people with your prayers as your Circle Foreign Missions Liaison keeps you informed of their needs.
