Prayer Chain
One of the many ministries of First Presbyterian Church is prayer. There currently exists two ladies' prayer chains composed of 70 women from within the FPC family who have agreed to pray for members of our congregation and their families when problems due to illness, injury, death, job concern or any other matter for which the family might desire prayer.
If you or any member of your family would like prayer support, please call Emily Eberle and the prayer chains will be activated. If you would like to be a prayer warrior yourself, call Emily, and she will see that you are added to either the daytime or the night prayer chain.
The body of Christ is called to support each other in prayer, and it is truly a privilege!
Minister for Pastoral Care Minister to call for pastoral care is Sandra Randleman at 298-9502 or e-mail in confidence: srandleman@fpcnshville.org . For emergencies after hours, please call the church at 383-1815 for information on how to reach the on-call pastor.

Thursday Evening Women's Bible Study
If grace is God's love for the undeserving, then what does it look like in action?
The Thursday evening women's study group invites all women of the church and their friends to their study of "What's So Amazing About Grace?" by award-winning author Philip Yancey. The study begins on Thursday evening, April 3 at 6:00 PM.
In his book, Yancey explores grace at street level. Yancey sets grace in the midst of life's stark images, tests its mettle against horrific 'ungrace.' Can grace survive in the midst of such atrocities as the Nazi holocaust? Can it triumph over the brutality of the Ku Klux Klan? Should any grace at all be shown to the likes of Jeffrey Dahmer, who killed and cannibalized seventeen young men? Throughout his book, Yancey offers compelling, true portraits of grace's life-changing power.
Meetings are Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Cheek House living room. New study members are welcome to join at any time. Books may be purchased thru the church, or you may purchase on your own. Call Ellen Murphree or Judy Lawrence if you want to acquire yours thru the church.
For more information, please contact Judy Lawrence at 832-1281 or Ellen Murphree at 377-4731.

PW Summer Study: Who You Are When No One's Looking?
Plan to attend Presbyterian Women's intriguing, new summer Bible study, Who You Are When No One's Looking?, beginning Tuesday, June 10.
We all present our best behavior when others are watching. But, what about when no one is looking? That's when character emerges: courage, discipline, vision, endurance, compassion, and self-sacrifice.
Using key Scripture passages this study, written by Bill Hybels, senior pastor of Willow Creek Church, helps us to apply biblical truths to our lives, even as we face temptation and adversity.
